Sky won by 69 runs
Pacific report:
The news of Braden's illness hit Pacific's preperations hard in what was
always going to be the toughest match in this year's campaign. Dougal
DeKeller's non appearance compounded this but despite the loss of the 2
strongest batters, Pacific rallied. Cowling & Faisal - both in the
form of their lives - bowled superbly & Faisal in particular was
unlucky not to have added to his 2 wickets & catch. The change bowling
was less effective & both Hollman & Davies were creamed in
particular by Imran who scored 4 6s in his 39 not out.
In reply, a 10-an-over run rate required was a big ask as Riz tore out
Hollman & Davis & with Faisal having his leg stump uprooted by
Imran, Pacific were reeling with no where to go at 25-3 & with just 2
wickets in hand.
Sky were worthy winners by far & as title holders, & with their
competitive approach fully deserve their favourites tag.
Pacific VIII: Steve Emmins*, Martin Cowling, Lucius Faisal, Peter
Hollman, Jim Davies, Dougal DeKeller, Braden Grigg & Sammy Purcell.
