VP Juniors (weakened by lack of availability of players due to confusion
over whether the match was going to go ahead that evening) won the toss and
opted to bat first on a lovely evening.
VP Juniors captain, Harris, who has scored a number of 50s in VPCCL this
year, suffered from over-exuberance when he decided to charge down the track
for the first ball of the innings to sky a cover drive off the dangerous
Naz.
Just when he thought the slice had cleared the in-field, Nadeem 'Jonty',
Corsairs best fielder, sprinted 20 yards to take an outstanding catch over
his shoulder.
VP Juniors never recovered from this blow and finished on 41 all out to
some tight Corsair bowling.
Corsairs replied to win the match by 5 wickets with some sensible batting. |
