|
| Tuesday 13 July 2010, Victoria Park |
Chats Palace won by 73 runs
Chats Palace lost the toss and were put into bat
Chats Palace: 155 for 4 in 16 overs
Sam Hickey 51 not out
Rory Byrne 36
Extras 25
Junoon: 82 for 7 in 13 overs
Jonathan Holland 32 overs 3 wickets for 10 runs
Ned Woodman 4 overs 2 for 24
Chats Palace were put into bat on an overcast evening - eventually
leading to steady light rain. Chats batted well against a decent bowling
attack, with Sam Hickey capitalizing on a rather fortunate LBW decision in
his favour to smite the ball around the ground.
Supported by a sprited innings from Rory Byrne, Chats posted one of their
all-time highest totals which was always likely to be defendable.
Junoon started well, but found it difficult to get the ball away. Their
resistance was countered by a brilliant catch from Chats Palace captain Gary
Horsman - for once fielding at extra cover instead of behind the timbers.
A strong and consistent opening bowling spell from Ned Woodman pegged Junoon
back, with Jonathan Holland then capitalizing with three cheap wickets in
just two overs.
