Cally's overcame Sky in the run in to the finale to a long and
competitive season. Both teams had mutual respect for each other and the
match was played in a friendly and competitive manner.
The Mohammed Brothers gave Cally's a dream start with Fazal retiring on 52
and Nadeem continuing his impressive form with a quickfire 30. A below par
fielding performance from Sky saw 3 catches dropped and some sloppy
overthrows allowed Cally's off the Hook on several occasions.
Only Javed made some crucial breakthrough's restricting Cally's to a
competitive 164 in 15 overs. With several Cally's players not in suitable
attire (full whites at all times please gents!) Cally's skipper was left
with no choice but to open the attack with spin, a bold move which paid
instant dividends as the skipper himself Saj Rehman removed 2 wickets in the
second over.
Only Shakeel and Imran took the fight to Cally's, with both of them retiring
with fiftys but this meant Callys had two new batsmen at the crease for the
climax to the chase, this was the change in momentum Callys required as
Nadeem and Debutant Omar Ali saw Callys' over the line.
