End on a high! The cricketing eloquence that the Cavaliers demonstrated
against the oceanic Pacific CC was a glimpse of the talent that the
Cavaliers have in their arsenal. The back to back Divison Three CAMPIONES
now have to accept, manfull, a season as also rans.
The sands of time wait for no man, dare I suggest. Cavaliers won the toss
and choose the put willow to leather first. Abbas (Rizla) Rizvi opened with
the newest member of the squad, one Ross Arnold (Circus). (Rizla) Rizvi
contributed to his affliction by holeing out on the thrid man boundary for 6
- possibly looking for Harry Lime.
(Doctor) Paul Johnson dauntlessly came to the crease one down to attempt to
form an audacious partnership with Arnold (Circus). It bore exotic fruit
until the Doctor decided to passionately fruit a fine delivery for an Allan
Border like cover drive to end up springing the sticks off their proud
perch. 17, thats all she wrote for the good Doctor!
This bought to the wicket the candid but scrupulous Steve (McQueen)
Williams. A partnership that lead the Cavaliers to amass 144 runs for the
loss of 2 wickets. Maiden half century for Arnold (Circus) & Steve (McQueen)
finsihed with 31 runs - both of whom were not out.
Upon commencement of the Pacific innings - Marvelous fielding by the
effervescent (Thatched)Maroof Ahmed and a murderous display by Andrew
(DEADLY) Duncan 3-30 with buttress from (Sus)Pendrigh 1-22 & golden
armed(Rizla) Rizvi 1-0. 99 all out in 14 overs.
Thanks to the men of the Pacific for making a grand effort and a pleasure to
compete with. Thanks to all assocaited with Tower Cavaliers in making it a
honourable pleasure to adminster the club.
Farewell 2010 & Godspeed 2011. Signing off, Lord Lucan of Dar Es Salaam.
