Another brilliant game against the Wrong’uns, who we have played in previous
friendly and league games. Lovely weather accompanied us on pitch 3, and
Junoon started to build a good score after winning the toss and electing to
bat.
Amir Mapara controlled the innings with flamboyount batting as he reached
another 50 with class. Wickets did fall at the other end, but not enough to
ruffle the feathers of Junoon. The target was set at 140 for Wrong’uns to
reply, and a they did make a pretty decent start in batting.
A change in bowling brought about the first wicket, and the run rate slowed
down for the Wrong’uns. Skipper Firoz came back on to bowl and took 2
wickets in an over to turn the tides once again in favour of Junoon. Spin
was the key here as Faisal kept the revs going on the ol' leather and
finished up with 3 wickets.
Eventually Wrong’uns were all out for 111, 29 runs short of a victory.
Junoon take the 2 points and continue battling on for a top spot in the
'not-so-easy' 3rd divison.
