TR lost the toss and were put into the field. Hostile bowling by Jain and
Bulman saw two quick wickets fall. Classy innings from Faisal who held the
Martians together as the first change bowlers Bruce and Patel maintained the
pressure. 93 for 5 after 16 overs put TR in the ascendant.
Martians responded with some tight bowling and super fielding to keep the
run rate down. TR lost the early wicket of Bath but then Jain and
Sundararajan eased the ball around but were falling behind the rate.
Mini-collapse saw 2 wickets fall and the rate creep up. With one over to go,
2 wickets left and 9 runs required.
Stuart Bruce kept calm, leaving until the penultimate ball with 5 runs
required to crash a four through Cover, leaving a scampered single off the
last ball to claim an exciting victory. Great effort by the Martians and the
game was played in an excellent spirit.
