Tawheed overcame an upbeat Bengal Tigers in a competitive game to secure a
place in the last 8 of the VPCCL cup. With Nadeem stuck at work Tawheed took
to the field with 7 players, advantage Bengal Tigers.
A good toss to win for Saj of Tawheed meant Tawheed took the advantage back
immediately as Faz and Ash took the game to Bengal tigers from the
off, taking 22 off the first over off Mike P.
Bengal Tigers knew it was going to be a long 16 overs in the field. With Faz
retiring and Altaf, Saj and Ali all chipping in, Tawheed posted a
competitive 164. This was a defendable target even with only 7 players
available to field.
Kevin and Bengal tigers did offer to allow Tawheed to use a sub fielder, but
we decided to play within the spirit of he game and continue with 7
nonetheless.
Bengal tigers had a great start with Shiva taking the attack to
Tawheed smashing Tawheeds opening bowlers ALi 1 & Ali 2 out of the park.
Come the slow men again to save the day with Fazal Saj and Arshad all
getting amongst the Tigers Batsman to claim some crucial scalps. Kevin and
Mike P had a late rally smashing the last 2 overs for 30.
Alas it was too little too late. Well done Tawheed and Thank you to Bengal
Tigers for a fantastic game and good luck for next season.
