Junoon v Martians

Monday 13 May 2013, Victoria Park
Junoon won by 7 wickets

Junoon won the toss and chose to field first

Martians: 45 for 7 in 11.2 overs
Hari 10
Nomaan Shah 4-2-8-2 Firoz Husain 4-0-21-1 Faisal Gajia 1.2-0-5-2
Ashraf Molvi 2-0-7-1

Junoon: 46 for 0 in 6.5 overs
Waleed Khan 14*
Sarfraz Ahmed 28*

On a breezy evening, Junoon set out to battle it out for another qualifier, and this time on pitch 2 against the infamous Martians team.

JCC won the toss and opted to field first. Skipper Firoz opened the bowling attack alongside Nomaan to an initial run fest by the openers, but an extraordinary fielding by Firoz got the non striker run out.

A much needed breakthrough was accomplished, and then Nomaan let loose with his aggressive bowling yet once again. If the saying 'catches win matches' was anything to go by then JCC should have deservedly lost this game as several catches were dropped.

However, JCC held their heads up, and wickets were falling all around. A change of bowling also brought in more wickets courtesy of king spinner Faisal and also Ash.

Martians finally folded on a measly total of only 45.

JCC were now bouncing with confidence, and the 2 openers went in to bat with the intention to finish the job. A mission very well accomplished.

JCC did very well in their bowling and fielding to reduce Martians to a low score. Martians never got going but did try to gain momentum here and there in their batting.

Overall, a good game, and here's wishing the best of luck to both teams for the final qualifier.
